12 Date Night Dinners {Dinner for 2}

Just over a week until the cheesiest Hallmark holiday, Valentine’s Day. Don’t get me wrong, I like Valentine’s Day… I love LOVE so I love seeing everyone celebrate it. However, I don’t like the idea that you’re almost forced to show the one you love that you care about them on that day by buying them a gift or sending them flowers. I mean every girl loves flowers but every girl (and guy) loves to feel appreciated and loved EVERY day. We shouldn’t need one day to remind us to do so.

One of my favorite ways B and I spend quality time together is doing a date night dinner in. We both enjoy cooking and bond over cooking a delicious meal together. It’s much more enjoyable, relaxing and romantic when you can cook a dinner with your loved one in the comfort of your own home while enjoying your own music. No waiting for a seat at a table and no overhearing other conversations. A date night in is a perfect way for us to catch up and rekindle after busy weeks.

Dinner’s in don’t have to be expensive to be fancy either. You can make it a full date day by heading to the farmers market Saturday morning to grab seasonal and local ingredients then stop by the grocery store or butcher to grab the rest of the ingredients to make your meal. Decorate the table fancy with what you have on hand and make sure to pop in some easy-listening tunes. We enjoy listening to concert DVD’s so that way we can watch something as we pass through the living room and can also hear the live music as we’re prepping the food.

Using Foodie.com I rounded up 12 delicious date night dinner ideas that are made to serve 2. There’s a wide range of meals from ethnic, to seafood, to vegetarian and paleo. Something to suit any mood B and I are in.

Here’s a sneak peek at some of my favorites:

My Japanese Ramen Soup with Kale and Organic Pork Meatballs is a fun alternative to take-out if you’re not in the mood to make a big meal but still want a date night in.

Seafood is a go-to date night option for B and I. This Creamy Lemon Lobster Pappardelle sounds so comforting and delicious!

Ah homemade gnocchi is heaven for me. Not only does this Truffled Gnocchi with Mushroom Ragu sound so romantic but making the gnocchi together makes for a fun date as well!

Now I’m itching to get back in the kitchen with B and whip up some of these delicious recipes!
