You guys! I am SO excited for vacation I can’t even stand it. Now that my crazy wave of life activities have slowed down it’s REALLY hit me that I’ll be visiting one of the prettiest states in less than a week now!
Plane tickets booked, hotels booked, chalet in Estes Park booked, rental car reserved…. now just to figure out EXACTLY what we’ll be doing on our free days. Cue the freaking out!
Here’s our schedule…
We fly in to Colorado Wednesday morning and drive straight to Estes Park. We’ll hike Wednesday afternoon and stay in Estes Park Wednesday night.
Thursday morning we’ll probably do a short hike then head to Boulder Thursday evening.
We have Thursday evening and Friday morning free in Boulder then I head to the Trail Run & Cocktail Party for Blend Retreat Friday late afternoon/evening.
Saturday I have Blend activities until 2 then we’re free in Boulder.
Sunday I have Blend activities until 12pm then we’re heading to explore Denver. We’ll spend the night Sunday night in Cherry Creek in Denver then fly out Monday morning.
SO! I need your help. If you live in Colorado, have lived there, or visited, please give me your “MUST DO” hikes in Rocky Mountain National Park and Boulder area. Keep in mind that since we’re traveling and packing so much in we can’t do any extreme hikes/climbs. We want something that will be slightly challenging but not too strenuous but with beautiful views! I’m sure we’ll get amazing views wherever we are in Rocky Mountain National Park though!
Also many of you have been AMAZING and gave me some great restaurant recommendations via Twitter & Instagram but if you have any more please send my way. Plus any other “must see” places in Estes Park, Boulder and Denver. We want to see and pack in as much as possible since it’ll be a short trip!
I’ve been doing some research about certain things that I should make sure to pack and layers is one thing that keeps coming up since it could be 80 degrees at one elevation and 40 at another. Obviously, I’m packing hiking shoes/clothes and a hiking backpack. Plus bug spray, digital camera with extra battery and rain jacket. What other IMPORTANT things should I not forget that would be particularly helpful in Colorado?!
Thanks in advance for all your advice! I love hearing what everyone has to say!
