Where do I even start.. this weekend was a little nuts to say the least. What started out as a typical, relaxing weekend turned into a weekend I never imageined.
Friday night we enjoyed a DELICIOUS pistachio crusted rack of lamb thanks to The Butcher’s Box. (Review coming tomorrow!)
Saturday morning B and I set out to take an early hike up in the north Georgia mountains. We headed to Fort Mountain State Park.
After we made it to the top overlook we were exploring some old ruins and out came this cute little cat. I petted her and joked with B that I wanted to take her home and he laughed and said, “yeah right Brittany! Only if she follows us all the way back down to our car.” Well she ran off to play with something so we continued hiking down the mountain. About 10 minutes later B told me to turn around and there she was, just trotting right behind us!
She walked next to us the whole way down back to our car! So we decided to take her to the ranger station to see if she was missing from any campers or rangers in the area. They said she was a stray they’ve seen a few times this summer on the mountain. I can’t believe no one saved her! So we did just that. We drove right to the nearest vet and had her checked out. Luckily, she was free of fleas/ticks and was healthy! She’s about a year old. She did so well the whole hour and 30 minute car ride back home. She’s the friendliest cat ever and is so sweet and cuddly! We have to get her to a local vet soon for her vaccinations and to be fixed. We named her “Chats” after Chatsworth, the town we found her in. Prepare for kitty photo overload!!
It’s funny to think she “picked us”. But really… who saved who?! I’m already so fortunate to have her in my life.
Sunday I gave her a little bath and although she wasn’t a fan she sure was adorable wrapped up in a towel in my arms!
Sunday I did a little fall baking and made some butternut squash breakfast bars! YUM. Recipe coming soon.
And Sunday night I finished with a delicious spaghetti squash bake. The best way to have spaghetti squash!
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend too!
So tell me, did a pet ever “pick you”?
