Happy Monday Friends!
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I sure did! Although it began rainy and cool, yesterday ended in the upper 70’s with sunny skies and today is supposed to be 78! Gotta love that Georgia weather!
Saturday morning I was invited by Be Yoga Atlanta to attend their Hot Power Yoga Class at the Marietta studio.
I have to admit I was a bit nervous trying this class since most of the yoga classes I’ve taken recently have been at the YMCA and haven’t been very challenging. I was worried I’d be walking into a studio full of people who are dressed in lululemon and doing flips right and left and that I’d feel so out of place. That was definitely NOT the case here. Julie taught the hot yoga power class and was SO welcoming to those of all levels. She helped push you to do the best YOU could do and was constantly walking around the room adjusting everyone to get deeper in the poses that felt right for their bodies. There was no music during the class, just Julie talking us through each and every movement.
I absolutely loved it. I was dripping with sweat, breathing deeply yet at the same time I felt so alive and awake! It was like my body was aching to be pushed and stretched farther. I completely forgot to bring a towel… yes I know, forgetting to bring a towel to a hot yoga class is like forgetting peanut butter on your pb&j! Thankfully they gave me a towel so I wasn’t slipping and sliding all over my mat. Note to self: get a yoga mat towel.
The studio was much larger than I thought with a big open lobby, a smoothie/juice bar(!!), two yoga studios, changing rooms, shower rooms, and a massage room.
The smoothie/juice cafe “Up Dog” was closed when I first got there but opened up at 9:30am so I grabbed a smoothie after my class to refuel. I tried the Kale Up which is made with mango, kale, pineapple, lemon and agave. It was delicious and the perfect reboot after class!
Be Yoga Atlanta offers an array of classes for any interest; Be Dynamic, Be Basic, Be Efficient, Be Hot Power, Be Hot, Be Hot Basic, Be Yin, Be Warm Yin, Be Deep and Be Hot Pilates. See their class descriptions here for more information.
I had a great experience at Be Yoga and felt so comfortable in my own skin from the moment I walked in the door. I felt challenged but not pushed and encouraged in all the right ways. Once I move I’ll definitely be frequenting this studio more often!
The rest of the weekend we ran a bunch of errands, played with this ADORABLE puppy that B’s brothers family just got, and went to three different birthday parties!
And I worked on a delicious new recipe for you guys! Stay tuned!
Have a great start to your week! XOXO
