Ugh how is it already Monday?! The long holiday week went by all too quickly. But it’s a MARVELOUS Monday because I get to look back at all the fun I had this past weekend.
Thursday I worked half a day at home then ran some errands and finished the day up with a homemade margarita!
And some kabobs on the grill. Love summer!
Friday was supposed to be a yard-work day but it ended up raining on and off so it ended up being the perfect day to run errands, clean the house, organize the garage and start picking out paint and carpet samples for the guest bedroom! Here comes the next renovation project!
Friday night B and I went out for a quick date night then watched Interstellar. SUCH A LONG movie but it was pretty good!
Saturday morning I made a patriotic breakfast to kick off the fourth in style… some protein french toast and organic bacon! YUM!
Our neighbors asked us to “watch” their massive garden while they’re on vacation… aka picking things so new growth can come in. So I get to keep all the veggies! Woo hoo!
Saturday evening we headed to a friends BBQ to celebrate the fourth then walked down to the Marietta square to watch the fireworks! So much fun but I definitely missed Petoskey’s view of the fireworks over Lake Michigan!
Okay so get this… left picture is Saturdays garden pick and the right is Sundays. Some things are from my garden and some are from my neighbors. SO MUCH FOOD! I’m in heaven.
I canned some Dilly Beans and Hot Cumin-Pickled Summer Squash. Up next is some salsa!
And to celebrate a relaxing holiday weekend at home I made mussels and sausage in a tomato broth with buckwheat noodles. Why don’t I make mussels more?! Seriously so easy and so delicious!
Have a great Monday!
