Disclaimer: I was gifted the Valentia Even Glow Serum free of charge to review. However, this review and statements included are my honest opinion.
When I was contacted by Valentia to review their Even Glow Serum I was instantly intrigued. I’ve never tried an antioxidant treatment before let alone a skin serum like this. I have to be particularly careful with the products I purchase for my face because of the sensitive skin I have. I have an oily/combination skin type that seems to be prone to break-outs with certain products.
I was interested in learning more about Valentia once I heard the Even Glow Serum was made with all natural ingredients. To name a few:
- Sea Buckthorn Oil and Rosehip Seed Oil– These oils work in tandem to promote skin hydration and then lock in moisture. When combined with Vitamin C, all three ingredients exist harmoniously to combat free radicals, protecting your skin from future signs of aging to promote more beautiful, youthful looking skin.
- Resistem (Plant Stem Cells)– Protects against stress-related aging while promoting skin detoxification. A French study has demonstrated that Resistem improves dullness of the skin 67% when applied in comparison to a placebo, also reducing skin inflammation by 23% after just two short months. This means that your skin will regenerate more quickly as it is protected against environmental stressors in a gentle, sensitive manner.
- Hyaluronic Acid (Botanical)– Allows your skin to retain more moisture than before while simultaneously increasing elasticity and firmness. The Journal of Clinical Aesthetic Dermatology conducted a study with 15 female volunteers ages 35 to 65 to demonstrate the effects of Hyaluronic Acid. After only two short months of use, all 15 volunteers showed demonstrated improvement in skin rejuvenation.
- Green Tea– The catechins contained in green tea are a potent antioxidant which also contribute to the overall anti-inflammatory, and anti-irritant benefits of this ancient health and beauty secret.
You use 1-2 drops of Even Glow after you have washed your face and before you moisturize it. I used a cotton swab to apply mine twice a day; in the morning after I washed my face after my workouts and at night before I went to bed. Both times I applied my regular Say Yes to Tomatoes Daily Balancing Moisturizer following the serum.
The serum is supposed to even skin tone, increase glow, boost collagen production and reduce wrinkles and fine lines.
I’ve used the serum for about two weeks now and I can definitely see an increase in the “glow” of my skin tone. Since I have been traveling this was a perfect opportunity to try this serum out. My skin tends to look dull and dry when I travel but this helped “wake it up”. However, as I said earlier, I was worried about breakouts because of this serum and I’ve certainly had more than normal. I know the serum states “For All Skin Types” but I think people with combination skin such as myself should only use it sparingly. I believe I wouldn’t have as many breakouts if I used this just once a day or a few times a week.
Other than the breakouts I was please with the small amount of glow I saw in just 2 weeks. I’ll report back in a month or so how the serum is working out and if it’s still causing me to break out once I reduce the amount of times I apply it.
