Saturday Morning Coffee Chat: Travelling Healthy

Good Morning Sunshines!

Got your coffee? Ready to chat? Good.. let’s get going! Today I want to talk about Travelling Healthy.

Perfect timing because I will be leaving this afternoon to head down to Traverse City and fly out to Orlando tomorrow morning!  I’ll be in Orlando for the next week working for the Orgill Dealer Market. I’ll be setting up the show Mon-Wed and running booths at it Thurs-Saturday then flying home Sunday. My blogging will be sporadic if at all so bare with me!

I’m also going to have extremely long days- up at 4:30-5:00a.m. working till 5:00-6:00pm- so I’m going to have to figure out how to fit in my #BestBodyBootcamp. I may end up just doing my own exercises here and there and pushing my training back a week until I get home. Sometimes you just have to go with the flow and not stress if you can’t fit in your workouts properly! That’s life!

For me personally, I find the key to travelling healthy (or being healthy in any matter) is to be prepared. I’ll have a fully stocked kitchen in the condo but will need to pick up groceries at a local grocery store. Not knowing what they may carry, I packed a few essentials that I like to have on hand.

Healthy Packing | Britt's Blurbs

Organic regular rolled oats. Chia seeds. Protein powder. Empty container–> These are mostly to make overnight oats since its a quick and healthy breakfast!
Green tea. Black tea. Ginger tea.
Almond butter packets & a hazelnut butter treat!
Granola Bars. —> I aim to bring ones that are packed with protein since my eating schedule may be sporatic and I need to have fuel in me at all times!
Container of trail mix. Almonds, dried cranberries & a chocolate trail mix! —> Staying happy is another KEY to travelling healthy. Even if it is with chocolate!

It’s also SO important to remember to pack your vitamins and EXTRA Vitamin C when travelling.

Your immune system tends to be down when stressed or exposed to all sorts of things when travelling so it’s best to be prepared.

Vitamins | Britt's Blurbs

I packed my GNC Vitapacks in one big bag then my other vitamins, Biotin, L-Glutamine, B-Complex and Melatonin (just in case I’m stressed and have a hard time sleeping), in smaller bags.
I also made sure to pack a little “emergency bag” with band-aids (new dress shoes=blisters!), tums, Emergen-C packets, Aleve and a battery (you never know!).

For working out…

If and when I find time (which I’m determine to make even a little), I’ll turn to either my printed #BestBodyBootcamp workouts, my “Bod Pod” workout Pinterest board or travel elastic resistance bands. I can always resort to quick body weight exercises and plyrometrics as well!

Since I’ll have a long day of airport travel Sunday, I’m also packing some healthy munchies in my carry-on. For main meals I plan to find the Starbucks protein box or a salad from a restaurant in the airport!

Carry-On Snacks | Britt's Blurbs

Into my carry-on will go…
Extra packets of tea, Chai Green & Ginger.
More Emergen-C. Aleve & Tums.
Almond Butter.
Luna & Kind Bar– Gotta be kind to your body when travelling!
And that trail mix.

I plan to grab a banana and apple from the hotel breakfast tomorrow morning to pack along as well!

Phewww. So there, my key to travelling healthy, especially since I suffer from IBS, is to be prepared and be happy!

XOXO. Britt

That’s my favorite Luna bar! Can’t get enough of them. And they’re perfect for an emergency snack to keep in your purse.

Hazelnuts are produced in commercial quantities in Turkey, Italy, Greece, Georgia, in south of the Spanish region of Catalonia, in the UK county of Kent and in the American states of Oregon and Washington. Turkey is the largest producer of hazelnuts in the world with approximately 75% of worldwide production.’
