A few snapshots from our summer 2016 vacation.
We drove the whole thing. Yep, all the way from Georgia to Michigan. Let’s just say I was overjoyed to be able to sit and relax at my parents home with no humidity when we arrived last Saturday.
We were only in Petoskey for a few short days so of course I had to soak up the view of my cute little hometown from the water and a classic, beautiful Petoskey Sunset.
Then we headed up to my family cabin on Drummond Island, Michigan. On the far east side of the Upper Peninsula and the only way to get to the island is by a car ferry. It’s one of my favorite places in the whole world. Time just seems to slow down there.
My parents, B, and I rented side-by-sides and drove on ORV trails out to Marble Head point where you sit up high on a cliff overlooking God’s Country. It’s truly a beautiful site.
We also spent an afternoon adventuring out to the north end of the island to the fossil cliffs. The fossil cliffs drop off over 60 feet into the water and are embedded with prehistoric fossils. So cool!
I took B out to a secret spot I would adventure to in my go-kart as a kid. And then he surprised me making that spot a place I will certainly always remember…
B asked me to marry him! Talk about a vacation I’ll remember for the rest of my life! My parents had the cutest set-up for when we arrived back to the cabin. We are so blessed and beyond excited to embark on this journey of life together!
So I’m back. Dreading the usual routine but so overwhelmed with the precious memories we made over the past week.
How have you been? What’s new with you?
