Taste of Marietta {2016}

Happy Monday! Hope you’ve had a great weekend. What a weekend I’ve had with the Taste of Marietta and a cat emergency.

I came home from the farmers market Saturday morning to find Chats’ right eye swollen and she kept squinting it shut. So after a trip to the vet, steroids, antibiotics, and a chunk of change later, we’re still not sure what’s going on with her. Poor girl! Everything is testing fine with it so they think either an allergic reaction, allergies, or something worse. I’ll have to keep an eye on it the next couple of days. That kitty has gone through a lot!

Sunday I ventured to the Taste of Marietta for the first time. Boy that was CRAZY. I’m glad we got there early because after about an hour of being there the lines were long and there were people everywhere. You couldn’t walk through without being jammed up against people. I guess that speaks to the popularity of Cobb County restaurants and the Marietta Square in general.

I tried J.D.’s BBQ for the first time and have to say it, of the BBQ places we sampled, it easily won.

Of course we had to stop at Piastra’s booth and sample their Chicken Parmesan Sandwiches. I told them they should have Elle’s Limoncello out instead. That stuff would go quickly!

We sample alligator stew. Not my favorite thing. But it also could have been because it was 80 degrees and alligator stew isn’t the most appetizing in the heat.

I was SO pumped to see Doughnut Dollies collaborating with High Road Craft Ice Cream. Doughnut Ice Cream Sandwiches?! It’s like my dream come true.

I opted for the Blueberry Lemon Ice Cream on a Lemon Doughnut. So tasty!

We really didn’t get a chance to sample much more than that because the lines were incredibly long. Next year our game plan is to get there first thing when it starts Sunday morning and hit up all the places we never get to try and stay maybe an hour to get out before the afternoon crowd gets there.

Hope you had a great weekend! xoxo
