Halloween is a little over a week away! I’ll give ya’ll a hint at what I’m going to be–>relates to this song.
So with Halloween comes the perfect opportunity for some fun costume parties. Since this month’s WIAW theme is Spooky Snacks & Healthy Halloween Treats, I thought it’d be fun to post a little of my favorites I found while browsing around Pinterest…
- Guacamole Sick Pumpkin
- Zombie Fingers made with string cheese & olives
- Little bones made with pretzels, marshmallows and white chocolate (okay not completely healthy but a cute idea!)
- Spider Eggs— hard boiled egg with sliced olives on top in the shape of a spider
And since it is WIAW after all, here’s a look at some of my eats as of lately.
Always have 1/2 Banana w/ 1 tsp. of some type of nut butter!
Same old, same old lately– 1 cup egg whites & oats topped with a scoop of pepita seed butter and a 1/2 banana on the side!
I try to check off the main food groups as best as I can during lunches- Veggies, fruit, protein, healthy fat & carbs.
Kale, wild rice, broccoli, organic chicken, avocado, tomatoes with a side of sweet potato slices and an apple!
I’ve not been very successful at one of my goals for Falling Back on Track (incorporating more veggies into my afternoon snack). But these Larabars were on sale at Kroger so I just couldn’t resist since they’re packed with fuel to keep me satisfied until dinner.
A few notibly delicious fall dinners lately. A (blurry picture, sorry!) tempeh grilled cheese sandwich with goat cheese, organic mild cheddar and thinly sliced tempeh on Ezekiel bread along side a cup of sweet potato soup!
A piece of crock-pot chicken over wild rice with a side of lots of veggies- mix of sweet potatoes, squash & carrots and steamed brussel sprouts!
Now that’s #fuelfood. Giving my body exactly what it needs!
