{WIAW} Travel Days

Happy Hump Day Friends!

Just a  quick note that I REALLY want to write a recap of my first 5k experience because I have a lot of thoughts to get down about it. Hopefully I’ll be able to do that this week. 

I’m on the road again for business which means long hours and rich dinner foods but I’m doing my best to stay on track.

Spooky Snacks and Healthy Halloween Treats

My tips for staying on track:

  • Drinking LOTS of water. It’s funny how dehydrated we can get while travelling and not paying attention to our liquid consumption.
  • Getting up early to MOVE. I’m often exhausted when my alarm goes off in the morning but I know if I do one thing for myself that day it’s to get up and move my body for a little while.
  • Pack snacks. I pack granola bars, bananas, apples and almonds to munch on between meals to keep my metabolism going. This also helps me not over-indulge on rich dinners.
  • Let myself enjoy something new. I often don’t make myself dinners full of rich sauces so if I feel like trying something new I go ahead. It’s all about balance.

Thank goodness for Keurig’s in hotel rooms now. And my morning protein shake & banana to refuel after a hotel gym workout.

    Waking up early in the morning to workout is ROUGH…I was definitely not feeling it this morning. However, it is SO worth it to get it done with early on and to have more energy throughout the day!
